Cornerstone 2007 Raffle winner Kyle Goodman receives guitar
This year at Cornerstone 2007, a raffle was held for those who made donations to JPUSA (Jesus People USA). For each $5.00 donations, (2) tickets were entered into a raffle which was held on the main stage each night. Many prizes were given out over the course of the week, but the main prize - a JR McClellan Guitar, custom-built by hand for the winner - was drawn on the final night. These prizes were donated by various supporters of Cornerstone Music Festival and JPUSA. Even those whose names were drawn for a prize on previous nights, were still entered for the Grand Prize drawing of the JR McClellan Guitar.
After months of waiting, the guitar was finished, built just for Kyle - a GA-254 with AAAA Western Red Cedar top and AAAA Indian Rosewood sides and back. The binding is Curly Maple. It is also outfitted with the Gotoh 510 18:1 tuners and a K&K Pure Western Mini pickup.
On Saturday, Nov. 3rd, Mary and I met up in Pekin, IL with John Herrin and Glenn and Wendi Kaiser to deliver the guitar personally to Kyle. Here are some photos of the occasion.
