A good view of this top, a Kermodie Spruce top with some bearclaw figure. It has some color, which some might find as a flaw, but I feel it gives the guitar character, and the sound is excellent. Well-quartered, the wood is stiff and light, and exhibits all the complex tonal characteristics a musician wants to hear in a strong rhythm guitar. It also has a great action and balance, which lends to it a nice, full fingerpicking voice.
